Hey, look who showed up after all these years. Cpl Dean Enns1820602. USMC 1959/1962. 1st Hawk Bn. Out of 29. Schooled @ Ft Bliss as a fire control operator. Semper FiBrothers! deano95823@aol.com
I came across your website but could not see where to join. I was with C company at 29 Palms in 64 then at both Hill 327 and Chu Lai in 65.I have numerous pics at those locations as well as at shoots in Viegas,Puerto Rico. The latter was while with 3rd LAAMB at Cherry Point in 66 & 67. I am originally from Illinois but moved to GA in 1992.For a short time, I lived in Md. with 2 other former LAAMB members, Earl Jones and Jim McMichael. Got married, moved back to Il and lost contact. Earl was A Prince Georges County policeman.

Stan, My wife and I are interested in attending the 2012 Reunion. You have done a good job in setting the agenda and schedule. There are enough events to satisfy anyone who attends. I will be sending you the registration and order form later. My tours were all with 3d LAAM Bn at Cherry Point in the mid-60's and early '70's. I served as H&S Btry CO; "B" Btry CO; Bn Ops O; and Bn XO under Tib Csik,Bob Bumpas and JohnDixon. Those were some great times for HAWK particularly with the missile shoots at Vieques and Camp Lejeune. I look forward to meeting youand seeing old friends from past. Semper Fi, Lacy Causey |

Hi Stan, Yes, I served in H&S Btry. 2nd LAAMs at 29 Palms and went to Viet Nam with them. I left 2nd LAAMS in Dec. '65 to go to WO screening course at Quantico. I spent about 2 years in 1st LAAMS then went to Pasadena for I&I duty. After I was commissioned, I went to 3rd LAAMS for a short while.
Who was looking for me? There are so few of the older Hawkers around. We're getting pretty scarce. I intend to join the Hawk Assn. Would it be ok for me to send you a check? I don't like using a credit card online. Thanks for getting in touch. Semper Fi.

Dear Sir: Just found your web site and joined for 2yr membership. I tried to purchace a Jacket and other products. the only thing added to my cart was the extra size cost. Please E-mail instruction.
Thank you.
Be Advised: The Marquardts have returned from their Mexican Adventure safe, sound and happy (whilst missing old and new friends in La Ribera) albeit half eaten either by mosquitos or sand fleas. Either way it sucks. Thank God it’s long trousers weather! I’ll write a far more later on and share it all including pictures (which will include pictures of the celebration of the Corps’ Birthday on November 10 in Los Barillas), including the answer to the following riddle: How are Mexican urinals like rides at Disneyland!?

Hello fellow Marines.
Where any of you stationed at Cherry Point NC from late 1965 to about Oct 1966. Did you ever take a LSD ( Landing Ship Dock ) from Morehead NC to Veags for a shoot? Have any of you ever claimed aspestius exposure from the ship(s) you were on.

When I returned fro Marine Barracks Roosevelt Roads PR in Aug of 1961 I was placed in 1st MAAM. Shortly after that we became 3rd LAAM and I was in "B" btry until Dec 22, 1962.

Found your site, but can't find any information about the Second Medium Antiaircraft Missile Bn. I served in both the First and Second MAAM Bns at 29 Palms and in the Second LAAM Bn both at the Palms and at Chu Lai. In, I believe it was September 1964, I went with three other Marines to RVN where we conducted the recon for location of HAWK in the Danang area, including Monkey Mountain, Hill 327, Hill 55, and near Hai Van Pass. I have been working on a history of Marine Corps Air Defense Missiles beginning with the development of the modifications to the Terrier at White Sands to make if ground mobile. Unfortunately, many of those that had key information are helping guard the Gates of Heaven now.
